Upgrading from WPUnlimited 1.0 to 1.0.1
I Didn’t Change any Theme Related PHP Files – Just go to your members area on WPUnlimited.com and download the theme file, as you did for the first version. Upload it over top of the previous version, making sure that the new files overwrite the old.
I Edited Some Theme Related PHP Files – Upload only the modified files in the new release, putting them where they belong, and making sure the new files overwrite the old.
If you have any questions, concerns, comments, please let me know. Also, if you have thoughts, ideas, input on how WPUnlimited should be modified in the future, please let me know. The youth of this theme provides its users with huge opportunities to mould it in different directions.
Advertising Control Using Hooks
Friday
Mar 13, 2009
I have been getting many questions on controlling advertising on a WPUnlimited blog. Seems not everyone is keen to use AdSense these days, and want to go that extra step of integrating their favorite banners to their site.
For the sidebar, people have become used to using the built-in WordPress widgets, but what if you want advertisements in other areas? Well, WPUnlimited has a feature called hooks that you can use to control your advertisement inventory.
Hopefully this video will help you better understand how you can use the Hooks tab to control your advertising.
Showing More to Search Engine Visitors
Monday
Mar 9, 2009
Being able to highlight elements of your site to search engine visitors is a great way to bump up how your advertisements are doing, or convert them into subscribers, and so with that in mind, WPUnlimited added an easy to use area where you can put HTML code to show your search engine visitors.
From special welcome text, to embedding a video, you have an opportunity to make a lasting impression.
WPUnlimited Status: Working on 1.0.1
Thursday
Mar 5, 2009
As you may or may not know, one of the key goals for WPUnlimited is to have constant and consistent updates and upgrades for paying members of the community.
If you’ve bought WPUnlimited, then you’ve bought a theme that will continue to grow and evolve to fit your needs. This also means you’ve bought a vote in the directions that WPUnlimited proceeds in. If we are missing a feature you’d like, or you wish that the administration panel user interface was changed in a specific way, please let us know.
There is a whole section in the forum for posting WPUnlimited Ideas.
I have many of my own ideas, some of which I will be post in the forum as well for you to all to give feedback on.
Be ready to upgrade WPUnlimited in the next week or two and start giving feedback on what should be the last WordPress theme you’ll ever need.
Note About Delayed Contact Form Responses
Thursday
Mar 5, 2009
For those that have submitted an issue through the contact form, but haven’t heard back from myself or the support team, my deepest apologies. For some reason, the e-mails were ending up being spam filtered.
I am looking through them, and answering them now, but if you don’t receive a response from me, please place a message on the forum regarding your problem.
I want to make sure everyone gets the support they need and don’t want anyone to feel slighted by this small technical glitch. Going forward, this issue should be fixed now, and any further submissions should reach me, and be answered as promptly as possible.
A huge thanks to those that brought this to my attention. And thank you to everyone else for being so patient.
